One caveat, I hope you can trust the writing on the board was not intended as a “cheat sheet” for me to instruct. This is the 3rd day of a brand new group of “on-rampers” to our gym. I wanted them to see the bullet points and write them in the notebooks we provide to them after their class.

Used a bunch of people who were there for a free class as guinea pigs. They seemed to buy it.

@chobbs Not bad yourself. I like the Dumb & Dumber reference. Can’t think of better source material for anyone to learn from.
What about replacing the constant “Ok?” query with: “Do you understand–yes or no?” Or “Nod if you know what I mean.” It’s a lot more to say, so you’ll be less likely to use it after every sentence and the specific response required from the athletes will help keep them engaged.
Or we just watch this as a group and take turns taking a shot for every “Ok” in the video.

@conorwlynch I almost stted that exact same thing. After I watched my video I can’t belive how many times I said “OK”. I have seen video and recorded myself coaching before and never heard it that much. Good call though!

My gaawwwd, I said it 58 times in 6:30 min. That’s embarrasing, gonna have to not think about the assignment so much and just coach in a natural state.

@chobbs, don’t worry about the cheat sheet, athletes sometimes need to see what you are speaking of as well. @conorwlynch I love the punch bowl hips! I keep looking at you and thinking you are the spawn of Ryan Gosling and Joaquin Phoenix during his hip hop career.

I tried to be Hova and get it in one take, but the phone had other ideas. Thanks to my camera man only a second or two was lost.

So after watching my video and reading the above comments I’m also an “OK” whore (@chobbs I’m not calling you a whore). I knew I used the term but didn’t realize it was to this extent, something I def need to work on. I used my Sat. morning class as the audience so you you’ll see me relating some of the positions to stuff we do in the gym. It’s also quite clear that my dog is not a fan of my presentation.

Like the rest of you definitely picking up words that I default to, such as ok and so. Will have to start being more aware of that anytime I talk.

So had to film this in two videos. Filmed another attempt yesterday that was gold, but never even started the camera.
Watching myself is rough. I don’t remember saying any of this. Also, not sure who coined the term, but Lululemon butt is official.
